# Autopilot > Use SkyYoke's autopilot panel to set altitude, vertical speed, speed and heading, engage LNAV, VNAV and approach modes, and use presets and Turn 180. The autopilot panel controls Infinite Flight's autopilot from the phone. Open it by tapping the **Autopilot** tile on the right of the cockpit screen. ![The autopilot panel](https://ifkits.com/wiki/img/autopilot-panel.png) ## The panel | Cell | What it does | | --- | --- | | **AP** | Autopilot master on or off | | **ALT** | Target altitude; tap to engage altitude hold | | **VS** | Target vertical speed in feet per minute | | **PRESETS** | Quick altitude presets | | **SPD** | Target speed | | **HDG** | Target heading | | **VNAV** | Follow the flight plan's altitudes | | **LNAV** | Follow the flight plan's route | | **APPR** | Fly the approach to the runway | ### Changing a value The ALT, VS, SPD and HDG cells each have a **swipe strip**. Drag right to raise the value and left to lower it. The faster you swipe, the faster it changes, so a slow drag fine-tunes one step at a time (100 ft, 100 fpm, 1 kt or 1°). Tap the value to turn that mode on or off. ### Turn 180 Swipe right on the HDG cell to reveal **Turn 180°**, which sets the heading to the reciprocal, useful for holding or a return. ### Disengage The red **Disengage AP** button turns the autopilot off at once. ## Arm, then engage SkyYoke follows the Boeing 777 mode control panel. With the autopilot master **off**, pressing a mode only **arms** it: the cell turns white and reads ARMED. When you press **AP**, every armed mode engages together. This lets you set up the climb on the ground and engage it all after takeoff. ## Quick engage from the cockpit Hold the **Autopilot** tile on the cockpit screen for 0.8 seconds to engage or disengage the autopilot without opening the panel. ## Managed and open modes [Airbus] [Boeing] On Airbus and Boeing aircraft, tapping ALT or SPD selects the **open** mode and holding it selects the **managed** mode, with a Cost Index page and SkyYoke's own auto-thrust. See [Managed and open modes](https://ifkits.com/wiki/managed-modes/). ## Safety nets - **Engage autopilot on disconnect** (on by default) turns on the autopilot if the connection drops or you leave the app, so the aircraft is not left uncontrolled. See [Settings](https://ifkits.com/wiki/settings/#safety-and-feedback). - **Sync heading bug in LNAV** keeps the heading target following the route while LNAV flies it, so disengaging LNAV does not turn the aircraft. > **Set the autopilot by voice** Say "climb to flight level three five zero, heading two seven zero" with the [AI Voice Commander](https://ifkits.com/wiki/ai-voice-commander/) [Pro].
