Auto taxi is a hands-free ground feature in SkyYoke for Infinite Flight. Long-press any taxiway on the moving map and it plans a route along the airport's real taxiway centrelines, previews the distance and ETA, then taxis your aircraft there with a pure-pursuit follower. It holds short of runways and asks before crossing, and stops the moment you take the controls. It is Infinite Flight-only and currently in beta.

Taxiing is the part of a flight the sim never really made easier — nudging the tiller down a chart of taxiways while reading signage and watching your speed. SkyYoke's auto taxi takes it off your hands. On the live moving map, hold your finger on the yellow taxiway where you want to end up. A half-second later SkyYoke has planned a route across the airport and drawn it as a bright blue line over the taxiways, from your nosewheel to a checkered-flag pin at your target.
Real centrelines, real steering
The route is not a straight line to a dot — it follows the airport's actual geometry. SkyYoke welds the taxiway network into a graph and runs an A* search for the shortest legal path to your point, exactly like a routing engine finds roads. It then drives that path with a pure-pursuit follower, the same steering technique used by real autonomous vehicles, so the aircraft tracks each centreline and rounds each corner smoothly instead of sawing back and forth. Want a different route? Tap the line and drag the orange point onto another taxiway before you start — it recalculates through your point automatically.
It holds short of runways — you clear the crossing
The one thing ground automation must never do is wander onto an active runway. Auto taxi is built around that rule. If the planned route crosses a runway, the preview panel warns you up front — "Route crosses a runway — SkyYoke will hold short and ask you to confirm before crossing" — and when the aircraft reaches the hold-short line, it stops. A full-width Confirm runway crossing button appears, and nothing moves until you press it. Clearing a runway is always your decision, never the app's.
The status bar, and instant hand-back
While it drives, a compact status bar sits at the top of the screen with the current phase, a distance-and-speed readout, a BETA pill and a red Stop button. The phase tells you exactly what it is doing, colour-coded:

And the moment you want it back, you just fly. Any control input, a touch of brakes, going airborne, an engine shutdown, drifting off route or a lost connection all stand the system down instantly — with a short banner telling you why, like "Auto-taxi stopped — you took the controls". You are never fighting the automation for the tiller; it lets go the instant you reach for it.

How do I start an auto taxi?+
With the aircraft on the ground, engines running and the parking brake released, press and hold on a yellow taxiway on the map for about half a second. SkyYoke plans a route and shows a preview panel with the taxiways it will use, the distance and an ETA. Tap “Confirm & start taxi” and the aircraft begins moving, with a status bar showing the phase and a Stop button.
Does auto taxi cross runways on its own?+
No. If the route crosses a runway, SkyYoke holds short and asks you to confirm first. The preview warns “Route crosses a runway — SkyYoke will hold short and ask you to confirm before crossing”, and during the taxi a full-width “Confirm runway crossing” button appears while the aircraft waits. You are always the one who clears the crossing.

There is also a red Stop button on the status bar at all times. Auto taxi is a convenience aid for major hubs with mapped taxiways, not a guarantee, so stay ready to take the controls.
