Getting started#

What is SkyYoke?#

SkyYoke is an iPhone app that turns your phone into a yoke, throttle, rudder and cockpit control panel for the Infinite Flight simulator, connected over Wi-Fi. See the wiki home.

Is SkyYoke made by Infinite Flight?#

No. SkyYoke is an independent app. It uses Infinite Flight Connect, the official feature Infinite Flight provides for external controllers.

What do I need?#

An iPhone on iOS 17.2 or later, Infinite Flight on a second device such as an iPad, and both on the same Wi-Fi or the iPhone's Personal Hotspot. See What you need.

Can I run SkyYoke and Infinite Flight on the same iPhone?#

No. The iPhone is the controller and Infinite Flight needs its own screen on another device.

Was SkyYoke called something else?#

Yes. Earlier versions, and the connection screen, show the name "IF Yoke N Joystick". It is the same app.

Connecting#

SkyYoke does not find my iPad. What should I do?#

Turn on Enable Infinite Flight Connect in Infinite Flight's Settings → General, put both devices on the same Wi-Fi, allow Local Network access for SkyYoke and turn off any VPN. Or connect by IP address. See Troubleshooting.

Which port does SkyYoke use?#

Port 10112 (Infinite Flight Connect API v2). Discovery listens on UDP port 15000.

Does SkyYoke work on public Wi-Fi?#

Often not, because public networks keep devices apart. Use your iPhone's Personal Hotspot and join the Infinite Flight device to it.

Flying#

The yoke moves in SkyYoke but the aircraft does not. Why?#

The axis is not bound in Infinite Flight yet. Run the Setup Guide and bind Roll, Pitch, Throttle and Rudder.

How do I use reverse thrust?#

Pull the throttle into the red zone after touchdown at 40 kt or faster. Below 40 kt the same zone applies the wheel brakes. See Throttle, reverse thrust and brakes.

Why do my brakes stay on when taxiing slowly?#

A wheel brake axis is still bound in Infinite Flight. Unbind Axis 4 → Wheel Brakes. See Troubleshooting.

Can I fly without tilting the phone?#

Yes. Switch to Touch Joystick in Settings, or connect a game controller.

Does SkyYoke have an autopilot?#

It controls Infinite Flight's autopilot, adds Airbus-style managed and open modes, a Cost Index and its own auto-thrust. See Autopilot and Managed and open modes.

Does it work with every aircraft?#

Basic flying works with every Infinite Flight aircraft. Managed modes, Auto-Trim, the Airbus and Boeing displays and the Violation Avoidance System need an Airbus or Boeing.

Can SkyYoke taxi for me?#

Yes, at major airports, with Auto Taxi (beta).

Pro and account#

Is SkyYoke free?#

It is free to download. The free version caps thrust at 85% and stops you after 60 seconds above 500 ft. SkyYoke Pro removes both limits. See Free and Pro.

What does Pro include?#

Full thrust and unlimited flying, the Violation Avoidance System, the AI Voice Commander, and the checklist co-pilot with its realistic voice.

Is there a one-time purchase?#

Yes, the Lifetime plan. There are also annual, six-month and monthly subscriptions.

Do I need an account?#

No. You can buy without one. Sign in later to sync Pro across devices. See Account.

How do I restore my purchase?#

Tap Restore purchases in the Pro screen or on your account screen.

Voice and privacy#

Does the voice command send my voice to a server?#

No. The AI Voice Commander recognises speech on the iPhone and the audio never leaves it.

Which iPhones support AI Voice?#

iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, on iOS 26, with Apple Intelligence turned on.

Does SkyYoke have AI ATC?#

Not yet. An AI air traffic controller is in development. Today you can answer Infinite Flight's own ATC from the phone. See ATC.

Other simulators#

Does SkyYoke work with Microsoft Flight Simulator?#

Not yet. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 support is in development and shown as Coming soon. See Microsoft Flight Simulator.
